The Comics

Something Like Summer began life as a critically-acclaimed book that spawned a series of novels and a film adaptation. Now the story is being retold, this time accompanied by full-color illustrations. As a lifelong fan of comics, I wanted to explore the warmth and intimacy of Ben’s relationships utilizing a medium that combines visuals with the written word.

This isn’t a simple retelling. The plot is set in a modern decade, forcing the characters to deal with a different set of circumstances. This allows the story to go in new and unexpected directions, although mostly it’s just a fantastic way of filling your heart with all sorts of incredible feelings and awesome art.

The series is collected in three volumes. Each is available as a printed graphic novel or as an eBook.
