Something Like Rain
Can a kind-hearted man survive the rigors of the world while still protecting those he loves?
Nice guys finish last, but that doesn’t mean they give up the fight. Sometimes it’s necessary to keep trudging through the rain in the hopes of finding a break in the clouds.
William Townson is a good person. He’s kind, considerate, and the last thing he ever wanted was to hurt anyone. Accidents happen though, and when they do, all that can be done is to pick up the pieces. For William, this means trying to hold together a stagnant relationship while resisting the temptation of Jason Grant, a young man with eyes just as intense as his love. Only the future can promise redemption for mistakes of the past, forcing William to choose between the Coast Guard and the needs of his heart. Can he find his way through the downpour to somewhere warm and dry?
Something like Rain is the latest installment of the Something Like… series, bringing shape to another character’s life while checking in with those from previous books.
“The dialogue is witty and real, the emotion raw and deep. I’m in love with every character in these stories — they feel like family. I’ve learned so much from these books and, trite as it may sound, I now have a deeper appreciation for love and life. Excellent.” – Sara, Amazon
The premise…
The character of William has been seen through two different perspectives so far, once in Spring and again in Lightning. Because of the events of those books, he is portrayed in two very different lights. The goal of Something Like Rain is to explore his character more thouroughly, allowing us to rely on fact more than interpretation. The story also explores what it means to be kind in a world that can be cruel. Is it possible to hold onto those ideals and innocence while still having a successful career and relationships? Or as life goes on, are we forced to compromise ourselves and play by rules that aren’t always fair?
